MUSCAT: Asfandyar XI emerged champions of the PSC Ramadan Evenings Cricket Tournament 2026, organised by the Pakistan Social Club (PSC) Oman in collaboration with Pakistan School Muscat, following an emphatic victory in the final held in Muscat.
The tournament concluded with a thrilling final and a closing ceremony attended by distinguished guests, community leaders and cricket enthusiasts.
H.E. Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Paul Robert Sheridan, Vice Chairman of Oman Cricket, was the Guest of Honour.

In the final match, Asfandyar XI faced Meerath Boushar in an exciting contest. After winning the toss, Asfandyar XI elected to bat first and posted a formidable total of 149 runs in eight overs, showcasing an impressive batting performance.
Chasing the target, Meerath Boushar fought hard but could manage only 82 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted eight overs, handing Asfandyar XI a convincing 67-run victory and the championship title.



Sajid of Asfandyar XI was named Man of the Match in the final for his outstanding bowling performance, taking three wickets for just seven runs in two overs.
Several players were also recognised for their performances throughout the tournament:
• Best Player of the Tournament: Ibrar (Asfandyar XI)
• Best All-Rounder: Hussain (Meerath Boushar)
• Man of the Match – Final: Sajid (Asfandyar XI)
Consolation prizes were awarded to Haroon (Boom Boom ITL) and Touseef (Chaudhry XI).
During the closing ceremony, the chief guest and guest of honour presented the Champions Trophy to Asfandyar XI and the Runners-up Trophy to Meerath Boushar, praising both teams for their competitive spirit and sportsmanship.
Syed Jamil Zaidi, Chief Coordinator of the tournament, thanked the participating teams, organising committee members and volunteers for their contributions in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, M. Kaleem Akhtar, Chief Organiser of the tournament, expressed appreciation to all players, supporters and volunteers for making the tournament a success. He also thanked Ameer Hamza, Chairman of Pakistan School System Muscat, for providing the facilities at the Pakistan School Muscat Ground, which played a key role in hosting the tournament.
The closing ceremony was attended by several members of the Pakistan Social Club leadership, including M. Nadeem Azeemi (Chairman PSC), Zahid Shakoor (Vice Chairman), Imran Toor (Finance Director), Kashif Zaeem (General Secretary), Shaandar Bokhari, Qamar Riaz, Usman Lakhan, William John and Ch. Ashraf, along with a large number of community members and cricket fans.
Special appreciation certificates were presented to members of the organising and technical committees, including Azra Aleem and Iftikhar Bhatti (commentators), Usman Akram (scorer), Sajid (online streaming), umpires Mujahid and Sameer, and technical committee members Haider Ali, Abdul Qayyum and Mohammad Imtiaz.
The tournament drew large crowds throughout Ramadan and served as a vibrant platform for community engagement, sportsmanship and friendly competition among cricket teams in Muscat.
