KUWAIT CITY – The General Authority of Civil Aviation confirmed that the incident was handled under the emergency response plan activated since the start of the regional crisis, in coordination with relevant national authorities.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the authority’s official spokesman Abdullah Al Rajhi said the situation was brought under control and stressed the authority’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to safeguard civil aviation safety and security in the country.
Earlier, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy had reported that six overhead power transmission lines in several parts of the country went out of service after debris from intercepted drones fell onto the infrastructure.
The incident caused a temporary disturbance in the national power grid and limited outages in some areas of Kuwait, before electricity was restored to the affected locations, the ministry said.
