MUSCAT — The meeting was organised by the ministry as part of its efforts to strengthen partnerships with the private sector and develop road infrastructure in line with global best practices.

During the meeting, officials outlined the objectives of the projects and the mechanism for submitting investment proposals, along with participation requirements aimed at enabling investors to explore opportunities in the sector.

The session also included an open discussion with investors and participating companies, addressing queries and reviewing the technical, financial and regulatory aspects of the projects. The ministry said the discussions were intended to enhance transparency and create a competitive environment attractive to investment.

According to the ministry, the projects form part of broader initiatives to expand private sector participation in infrastructure development, supporting economic growth and improving the efficiency and quality of the road network in the Sultanate of Oman.

Officials said the proposed projects would help upgrade the road system, improve operational efficiency and provide alternative routes that shorten travel distances and facilitate movement for citizens and residents.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and His Excellency Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shamkhi, the ministry’s undersecretary for transport, along with investors and companies that have purchased bidding documents for projects involving the design, construction, financing, operation and transfer of selected investment roads.
