MUSCAT : 5G networks of Omantel and Ooredoo are still experiencing external radio interferences which has affected the network performance in some parts of the country, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said on Wednesday.
According to TRA, network performance of some stations in the coastline of North and South Al Batinah and Musandam Governorate are affected and work is underway to tackle the issue soon. “Following coordination with neighbouring countries, it appeared that their 5F networks are also experiencing similar interferences at this time. Hence, TRA held a series of meetings with several parties in the region as well as manufactures to find appropriate solutions to stop these interferences,” TRA said.
“TRA apologises for the adversity faced by the operators’ of 5G networks that was out of their control and confirms that work is currently underway with all the relevant parties to tackle this issue as soon as possible,” the statement added.
