MUSCAT — The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, through its Directorate General for Standards and Metrology, stated that the new requirements cover gas cylinders, rigid and composite gas tanks, as well as gas appliance accessories. All manufacturers, importers, and distributors are required to obtain certificates of conformity through the Hazm platform by selecting an approved conformity assessment body.
The Ministry emphasised that compliance is compulsory to ensure the safety and quality of gas appliances in the market and to align with national standards.
