TEL AVIV : The IDF said the operation seeks to “thoroughly degrade the Iranian terrorist regime” and counter what it views as escalating dangers emanating from Tehran and its regional network.
According to the Israeli military, Iran has continued to finance, train, and arm proxy groups positioned along Israel’s borders, despite ongoing regional tensions. The IDF stated that these actions reflect Tehran’s continued commitment to what Israel describes as a plan to destroy the Jewish state.
“The Iranian regime has not abandoned its plan to destroy Israel,” the statement read, accusing Tehran of intensifying support to armed groups in the region. Israeli officials argue that the expansion of Iran-backed militias poses not only an existential threat to Israel but also a broader risk to stability across the Middle East and beyond.
