TEHRAN : Israel has launched what it described as a pre-emptive strike against Iran, the country’s Defence Minister confirmed, as air-raid sirens sounded across parts of the country and residents received mobile alerts urging them to remain near protected areas.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the nationwide alert was issued as a precautionary measure to prepare the public for the possibility of retaliatory missile fire. Citizens were advised to stay close to shelters and follow instructions from the Home Front Command.
Authorities stressed that the warning was proactive and aimed at ensuring civilian safety amid heightened regional tensions.
