MUSCAT – In accordance with the provisions of the Labour Law, the maximum working hours for Muslim employees is six hours per day or 30 hours per week.
In a statement outlining regulations for the holy month, the Ministry said the adjustment applies specifically to Muslim workers observing Ramadan. Employers are required to ensure that daily working hours do not exceed six hours, with the total capped at 30 hours per week throughout the month.
The Ministry also noted that a breastfeeding employee is legally entitled to one paid nursing hour per day.
