MUSCAT– The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced temporary restrictions on truck movement during the holy month of Ramadan to prevent traffic congestion during peak hours.
According to the ROP, trucks will be prohibited from operating from Sunday to Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., and again from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On Saturdays, truck movement will be banned from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on designated roads, including Sultan Qaboos Road — from Al Qurum intersection in Muscat Governorate to Khatmat Milaha border post in North Al Batinah Governorate — and Sultan Thuwaini bin Said Road, from Burj Al Sahwa roundabout in Muscat Governorate to Bidbid Bridge in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The restrictions will also apply to main roads within Muscat Governorate during the specified hours.
