MUSCAT : According to data issued by the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) meteorological stations, Mahout registered 34.7°C, followed by Bidiyah at 34.4°C and Al Qabil at 34.2°C. Nizwa recorded 33.7°C, while Dima Wattayeen reached 33.6°C. Temperatures in Al Jazir stood at 33.5°C and Al Ashkharah at 33.2°C. Ibra recorded 32.8°C, while both Qurayyat and Izki registered 32.7°C.

The Authority noted that the highest temperature recorded on February 16 was in Sohar at 33.9°C, compared to 33.6°C in Al Kamil Wal Wafi on the same day.

In its weather outlook for today, the CAA forecast mainly clear skies across most governorates, with a chance of isolated rainfall along parts of the Oman Sea and Arabian Sea coasts. There are also chances of low clouds and fog patches over parts of Al Dhahirah and Al Wusta governorates. Fresh winds over desert and open areas may lead to dust-raising conditions in several regions.

Winds are expected to be easterly to northeasterly, moderate to fresh over most governorates, while Dhofar governorate will experience northerly to northwesterly winds that are light to moderate.

Sea conditions will be slight to moderate along the coasts of Musandam governorate, with wave heights reaching up to 1.5 meters. The rest of the Sultanate’s coasts are expected to see moderate to rough seas, with maximum wave heights of up to 2.75 meters.

The Authority cautioned that horizontal visibility may be reduced in areas experiencing fog formation and dust activity, although visibility will remain good in general across most parts of the country.
