DUBAI : Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, one of Dubai’s most powerful business figures and the long-serving chief executive of global ports operator DP World, has resigned after being identified in documents linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to U.S. congressional disclosures and media reports.
U.S. Representative Thomas Massie said Bin Sulayem was the recipient of an email in which Epstein allegedly referred to a “torture video,” as part of materials released in connection with ongoing scrutiny of Epstein’s network and contacts. Portions of the correspondence had previously redacted the recipient’s name.
Bin Sulayem has led DP World since its formation in 2005, steering the Dubai-based company’s expansion into one of the world’s largest port and logistics operators, with operations across more than 70 countries and handling a significant share of global container trade.

Epstein, who faced U.S. federal charges of sex trafficking minors, died in jail in 2019. The periodic release of court documents and related correspondence has continued to draw global attention, particularly when high-profile business and political figures are named.
