MUSCAT : In a landmark achievement reflecting the collective efforts of its teams, strategic partnerships with stakeholders, and a sustained commitment to preventive measures, Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has celebrated surpassing 70 million safe manhours without any lost time injuries (LTIs). This milestone underscores the company’s steadfast dedication to upholding the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE), while embedding a strong safety culture across all its operational sites and critical projects throughout Oman.

This accomplishment is the result of OETC’s continuous efforts and initiatives to strengthen awareness and ensure compliance through comprehensive training and engagement programs, alongside the implementation of global best practices in occupational health and safety and risk management. These measures safeguard all stakeholders, ensure operational sustainability, and enhance organizational performance. The company also places strong emphasis on innovation and digital transformation as key enablers in advancing its QHSSE framework. OETC actively leverages smart digital solutions to monitor performance indicators, manage reports and field observations from various sites, analyze risks, and adopt advanced technologies for inspections and audits, in addition to conducting regular awareness campaigns. These initiatives contribute to heightened awareness, faster response times, informed decision-making, and a proactive preventive approach rather than reactive emergency management.
Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Fahad Nasser Al-Kiyumi, General Manager of Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment at OETC, highlighted that close collaboration and integrated efforts among all stakeholders form the cornerstone of this success. This is reflected through unified standards, knowledge and experience sharing, enhanced team readiness, and collective adherence to quality, health and safety requirements across project sites. He also emphasized the deployment of advanced electronic systems for compliance tracking, incident management, and worksite monitoring, supported by regular inspection, supervision, and awareness campaigns, driving operational efficiency, accelerating project delivery, and reinforcing transparency and continuous improvement.
