Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron will pay an official visit to India from February 17 to 19, 2026, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced on Tuesday.

During the three-day visit, President Macron will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hold bilateral talks aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries in the areas of technology, innovation, defense and regional issues. His visit comes at a critical time as both countries prepare to host and participate in major events such as the India AI Impact Summit to be held in New Delhi.

The visit includes Macron’s participation in the AI Impact India Summit in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, where world leaders, policymakers and industry experts will discuss the transformative role of artificial intelligence in governance, innovation and sustainable development.

The summit builds on the AI Action Summit held in Paris last year, which was co-chaired by Modi and Macron, and is expected further to strengthen cooperation between India and France on emerging technologies. During their visit, President Macron and Prime Minister Modi will jointly inaugurate the France-India Year of Innovation 2026 in Mumbai, highlighting deepening ties in research, technology and people-to-people exchanges.

Additionally, the talks between the two leaders are expected to focus on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including broader bilateral cooperation under the Horizon 2047 roadmap, Indo-Pacific cooperation and strategic alignment of key objectives.
