MUSCAT – The 30th edition of the Assarain Golf Classic, one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the Sultanate, will be held at Ghala Golf Club on February 6 and 7, 2026, with more than 130 golfers registered to take part, organisers said.

According to a press statement, the Assarain Golf Classic, sponsored by the Assarain Group of Companies, is a premium amateur golfing event that offers players the opportunity to compete in a professionally organised tournament that meets international golfing standards. Over the years, the Classic has grown into one of the largest and most sought-after golf tournaments organised annually by Ghala Golf Club, attracting participants from across Oman as well as the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Ibrahim Al Wahaibi, Director of the Assarain Group of Companies and pioneer of the Assarain Golf Classic, said the group remains committed to supporting the growth of golf in the Sultanate.

The 2026 tournament is expected to bring together golfers of varying handicaps, with categories open to men, ladies and juniors. The 36-hole competition is open to all players with a verifiable handicap and is regarded as one of the largest golfing events in the region.

A highlight of the tournament will be the presentation ceremony scheduled for February 7, where winners across different categories will be honoured, with organisers promising special surprises for participants.

The Assarain Golf Classic is supported by Hublot from Mistal, adding to the prestige of the event.
