MUSCAT : Muscat Municipality has awarded contracts for the development of seven residential park projects across multiple wilayats in the Governorate of Muscat, as part of its 2026 plan to promote sustainable urban development and enhance public amenities, officials said on Wednesday.
The contracts were approved during a meeting of the municipality’s Internal Tenders Committee, chaired by the chairman of Muscat Municipality, Eng. Ahmed bin Saeed Al Amri, at the municipality’s headquarters in Darsait, according to a statement.
The projects aim to increase the availability of neighbourhood parks, improve the urban landscape and support social well-being by providing accessible recreational facilities for residents, the statement said.

Commenting on the contracts, Al Amri said the projects reflect the municipality’s commitment to enhancing the visual character of residential areas and providing modern infrastructure in line with urban expansion and sustainable development goals.
“These initiatives are aligned with Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on creating more human-centred cities and expanding green spaces,” he said, adding that the municipality aims to optimise land use, increase green coverage and deliver sustainable services across the governorate.
Muscat Municipality said the projects are intended to support healthier and more active lifestyles, strengthen social cohesion and contribute to the creation of a vibrant, attractive and sustainable urban environment in the capital.
