MUSCAT – As per the case details, the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate received multiple complaints from consumers who had contracted with the establishment to manufacture doors, windows, and cabinets. The complainants stated that the workshop failed to complete the agreed works within the specified timeframe and repeatedly delayed execution.

The CPA examined the complaints and attempted to reach an amicable settlement between the parties. However, after no satisfactory resolution was achieved, the cases were referred to the judicial authorities.

The court found the establishment and its representatives guilty of the misdemeanour of failing to properly provide services to consumers, in violation of the Consumer Protection Law. The defendants were also convicted of failing to provide consumers with invoices or documents in the Arabic language containing essential service details.
