Scattered rains expected in Muscat and Musandam as cloud cover moves across northern governorates

Oman Meteorology has reported cloud formation over parts of Musandam Governorate, with scattered rainfall that may be accompanied by thunderstorms, according to aerial and satellite imagery.

MUSCAT – The Met office stated that the latest satellite images indicate cloud flows affecting the northern governorates, bringing chances of scattered light rainfall in several areas.

In its weather forecast for today, Sunday, January 25, 2026, Oman Meteorology expects cloud advection over the northern governorates, with isolated rain possible in Musandam, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, and Muscat Governorates.

The forecast also indicates the possibility of low clouds forming late at night and early morning over parts of Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates.

Oman Meteorology has advised the public to exercise caution due to the potential reduction in horizontal visibility, particularly during periods of fog formation.
