MUSCAT: Passengers traveling to the Sultanate should not take COVID-19 tests before boarding as PCR tests are done only after arriving at the Oman airports, a top official has clarified to The Arabian Stories.
As Oman reopens its airports for scheduled flights from October 1, authorities have prepared facilities for conducting PCR tests for passengers arriving in the country.
“We are also getting calls from people asking if they need to take the PCR tests from the country they are boarding the flight. They need not take any tests from their country. All passengers have to undergo PCR testing when they arrive at Oman airports and not from anywhere else,” the official said.

PCR tests will have to be pre-booked on Tarassud+ mobile application. The application serves to gather all relevant passenger details and gives the users secure and easy access to pay for their PCR tests online, with the price per test set at OMR 25.
“After the PCR tests, passengers staying for more than seven days are required to wear a wristband and follow a 14-day quarantine whether the results are negative or positive,” he added.
