MUSCAT : Held over two days, the marathon unfolded as a major sporting and social phenomenon, reflecting the Sultanate’s growing global appeal and cultural diversity. This year’s event took place at Al Khuwair Square in Muscat, as part of a strategic vision to diversify hosting locations and enhance the overall experience for runners and spectators alike. The new venue provided an integrated and dynamic space that boosted audience engagement, elevated the participant experience, and created a distinctive atmosphere that marked this edition as one of the most successful to date.

The marathon brought together elite professional athletes, amateur runners, families, and first-time participants, competing across multiple race categories, including the full marathon, half marathon, 10km and 5km races, fun run, and dedicated children’s races.

The Muscat Marathon has earned international recognition, having been acknowledged in 2018 as one of the region’s leading sporting events by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), and officially recognized by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
