MUSCAT : The Coast Guard patrols of the Musandam Governorate Police Command have intercepted three boats carrying eight individuals of two Asian nationalities while they were attempting to illegally enter Omani territorial waters, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
In a statement, the ROP said the boats were found to be carrying quantities of alcoholic beverages intended for smuggling and trafficking. The suspects were apprehended and the seized items confiscated.
Authorities said legal procedures are currently being completed against those involved.
