DUBAI : According to data published on the Dubai Airports website, six flights due to operate on Friday between Dubai and several Iranian destinations were cancelled. The affected routes included services to Tehran, Shiraz and Mashhad, three of Iran’s key aviation hubs.

No official reason was provided for the cancellations, and there was no immediate clarification on whether alternative arrangements were being offered to passengers impacted by the sudden changes.

The developments come amid wider regional aviation disruptions. In Turkey, Turkish Airlines cancelled all five of its scheduled Friday flights to Tehran, according to information shown on the Istanbul Airport mobile application. The same source indicated that five additional flights operated by Iranian airlines were also cancelled, while seven other services to Tehran remained on schedule.

Turkish authorities have not issued any public statements on the situation in Iran, where protests linked to the rising cost of living have intensified pressure on the leadership under Ali Khamenei. The demonstrations come as the country continues to face a prolonged economic crisis driven by years of international sanctions, further compounded by the impact of the June conflict with Israel.
