Muscat Stock Exchange jumps 1.24% as benchmark index adds 75 points

The benchmark MSX 30 index at the Muscat Stock Exchange closed higher in today’s trading session, gaining 75 points, or 1.24 per cent, to settle at 6,099.70 points.

MUSCAT : Despite the index’s upward movement, total trading value declined by 6.7 per cent to RO 52.42 million, down from RO 56.16 million recorded in the last trading session. According to the exchange’s daily report, the market’s overall capitalisation rose by 0.788 per cent, reaching approximately RO 32.89 billion.

Foreign investor activity remained moderate during the session. Non-Omani purchases amounted to RO 4.12 million, representing 7.86 per cent of total trading, while non-Omani sales stood at RO 4.28 million, accounting for 8.16 per cent. As a result, net non-Omani investment posted a decrease of RO 159,000, equivalent to 0.30 per cent of total transactions.
