MUSCAT : The Oman Society of Astronomy and Space has confirmed that this rare astronomical event promises stunning views and an ideal opportunity for skywatching and photography.
The Supermoon will occur as the full Moon coincides with its closest point to Earth in its orbit, known as perigee, making it appear noticeably larger and brighter than usual. According to the Oman Society of Astronomy and Space, the best time to observe this striking phenomenon is during moonrise and moonset, with the Moon expected to rise at 5:32 PM from the eastern horizon across Oman.
Adding to the cosmic spectacle, Jupiter will accompany the Supermoon in the night sky, appearing relatively close to the Moon shortly after sunset. This rare conjunction will enhance visibility and offer a dramatic backdrop for observers across the Sultanate.
