MOSCOW : According to Russia’s operations headquarters in the Krasnodar region, the drone attack damaged refinery equipment, a port dock and five residential houses in and around Tuapse. The details were shared via the Telegram messaging platform by the emergency response body.
Tuapse is located in southwestern Russia on the Black Sea coast, approximately 350 kilometres from the nearest parts of the Ukrainian mainland across the Sea of Azov. Authorities said the refinery fire spread across roughly 300 square metres before being extinguished, but did not clarify the full extent of damage to refinery equipment or confirm whether operations were suspended.
The port of Tuapse is one of Russia’s key Black Sea outlets for oil products and is closely linked to the export-oriented Tuapse refinery, owned by Rosneft. The facility has the capacity to process about 240,000 barrels of crude oil per day, producing refined products including naphtha, fuel oil and diesel.

Both the port and refinery have been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian drone strikes during the nearly four-year-long war waged by Russia, with previous attacks reportedly causing fires and, at times, disrupting oil export operations.
