Paris: In a post on social media platform X, Macron said the meeting will bring together the so-called “coalition of the willing” to agree on concrete commitments to support Ukraine’s security. The announcement followed consultations with former US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We will bring together the ‘coalition of the willing’ countries in early January in Paris to finalise the concrete contributions of each of them,” Macron said, adding that progress has already been made on security guarantees that would be “essential for building a just and lasting peace.”
The French president’s statement comes a day after talks between the Ukrainian and American presidents in Florida.
