Istanbul: According to the official broadcaster TRT Haber, police teams launched an operation at a house believed to be sheltering militants near the town of Yalova, located on the Marmara Sea coast, south of Istanbul. A clash erupted during the raid, leaving seven officers injured.

The incident comes just days after Turkish authorities detained 115 people suspected of links to ISIS, with officials saying the suspects were allegedly planning attacks during New Year’s celebrations.

Türkiye has faced repeated threats from the militant group in the past. About a decade ago, ISIS was blamed for a series of deadly attacks on civilian targets across Türkiye, including a major assault on Istanbul’s main airport that killed dozens.
