MUSCAT — SalamAir, Oman’s low-cost carrier, said it will launch direct flights between Muscat and Damascus, becoming the first Omani airline to operate services to Syria.
In a statement, SalamAir said ticket sales have opened for the new route, with the first flight scheduled to operate on May 2, 2026. The Muscat–Damascus service will run twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the airline said.
The airline said the addition of Damascus supports its network expansion strategy and aims to meet demand for affordable regional travel, while serving the Syrian community in Oman and strengthening onward connectivity through Muscat.

“Choosing Damascus to be our next route, and to be the first Omani airline to operate to Syria, reflects our strategic and commercially driven approach to network expansion,” Steven Allen, SalamAir’s chief commercial officer, said in the statement.
Damascus becomes the fourth new destination announced by SalamAir in recent weeks, joining Port Sudan, Medan and Vienna as markets set to be served from Muscat in 2026, the airline said.
