Karwa Motors rolls out Oman-made minibus to power public transport

Karwa Motors has announced the production of a new bus aimed at strengthening mass transit solutions in Oman, as part of its efforts to support the local automotive industry.

Muscat: The newly launched Karwa Minibus, with a seating capacity of 14 passengers, has been developed to meet diverse transportation needs, with a strong emphasis on operational efficiency, performance and safety. The company said the vehicle is designed to serve the requirements of government agencies and institutions operating in the Omani market.

Speaking on the launch, Dr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al Balushi, Chief Executive Officer of Karwa Motors, said the production of the new minibus marks an important addition to the company’s portfolio and aligns with its strategy to supply the industrial sector with high-quality mass transportation solutions for Oman and export markets.

He noted that the Karwa Minibus represents a step towards building a robust local automotive industry capable of meeting market needs with efficiency and quality, adding that localising mass transit vehicle production is a key pillar in delivering safe and reliable transport solutions. He stressed that all Karwa vehicles are designed to suit Oman’s operating environment, with safety, reliability and operational efficiency as core priorities.

Karwa Motors also highlighted its strong focus on after-sales support, backed by a network of 23 service stations across the Sultanate. In parallel, the company is expanding its export footprint to around 10 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Algeria, Iraq, Nigeria and Ethiopia, with future plans to enter markets such as Jordan, Egypt and Tanzania.
