MUSCAT : Oman and India have successfully concluded negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), with the deal now entering its final stage ahead of signing, H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the Oman–India Business Dialogue, Al Yousef said the conclusion of negotiations marks a major milestone in bilateral economic relations and reflects the strong commitment of both countries to expanding trade and investment cooperation.

“We are pleased to inform that negotiations on the CEPA have been successfully concluded and are now in the final stages ahead of signing,” the minister said.

Al Yousef noted that the agreement is expected to unlock new opportunities for businesses in both countries by improving market access, facilitating trade flows and encouraging greater private-sector collaboration across priority sectors.

The announcement comes as Oman and India mark 70 years of diplomatic relations and as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertakes an official visit to the Sultanate, underscoring the growing momentum in bilateral engagement.

The CEPA is expected to support Oman’s Vision 2040 objectives by attracting quality investments, strengthening non-oil trade and enhancing integration with global and regional supply chains. For India, the agreement would deepen economic ties with a key strategic partner in the Gulf.

Business leaders attending the dialogue welcomed the announcement, describing the CEPA as a timely step that could accelerate joint ventures, boost small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthen long-term economic cooperation between Oman and India.
