Oman issues RO 150 million sovereign sukuk with 4.15% annual return

The Omani Sovereign Sukuk Company, has announced the issuance of the tenth local sovereign sukuk valued at RO 150 million, with an option to increase the issuance by up to RO 50 million.

MUSCAT : The subscription period opened today and will close on Monday, December 22, 2025, with issuance and settlement scheduled for Thursday, December 25, 2025. Returns on the sukuk will be paid semi-annually on June 25 and December 25 each year until maturity on December 25, 2032.

The issuance is open to all categories of individual and institutional investors, both within and outside Oman, and across all nationalities. The sukuk will be offered through a competitive subscription process, with bids to be submitted during the subscription window via designated collection banks, including Bank Muscat and Meethaq, Ahli Bank and Ahli Islamic, Bank Dhofar and Dhofar Islamic, National Bank of Oman and Muzn Islamic Banking, Oman Arab Bank, Bank Nizwa, and Sohar International.

Prospectuses and subscription forms are available through the Ministry of Finance website and the websites of the participating banks. Investors are required to obtain an investor number from the Muscat Clearing and Depository Company website or through the Oman Shares application at least one day prior to submitting their subscription.

The sukuk complies fully with Islamic Sharia provisions and will be tradable on the Muscat Stock Exchange at prevailing market prices. Details of allocated instruments will be recorded and maintained in the official register managed by the Muscat Clearing and Depository Company.

The Omani Sovereign Sukuk Company has also stressed the importance of ensuring that the bank account number provided in the subscription application matches the one registered with the Muscat Clearing and Depository Company, to facilitate smooth processing and timely payment of profits and principal upon maturity.
