MUSCAT : Ooredoo Oman said on Tuesday it has approved an organisational restructuring as part of its ongoing strategic transformation programme aimed at improving operational efficiency and supporting long-term sustainable growth.

In a disclosure to shareholders dated December 16, the telecom operator said its board of directors approved the restructuring decision on November 12, 2025. The move relates to non-senior leadership roles and forms part of a broader effort to streamline and consolidate certain roles and activities within the company.

Ooredoo Oman said the initiative is designed to align the organisation with its evolving business model, changing market dynamics and future investment priorities, particularly in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and value-added services.

The company estimated the cost of the initiative at around RO 15 million, which will have a negative impact on its profit for the 2025 financial year. The cost includes compensation expenses for affected employees, as well as other expenditures related to technical aspects of the programme and consultancy services.

Despite the short-term financial impact, Ooredoo Oman said the transformation programme is expected to generate positive annual financial benefits of approximately RO 8 million from 2026 onwards.

The company said it has strong retained earnings, allowing it to continue dividend payments for the foreseeable future.

Ooredoo Oman added that it remains committed to the continuity of its operations, service availability, customer commitments and the execution of its strategic projects.
