Dubai: Several flights operating between the UAE and India’s capital were delayed or rescheduled as low visibility conditions affected airport operations, particularly during the early morning hours. UAE-based passengers travelling to Delhi were advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport, with delays of up to two and a half hours reported across major carriers including Emirates, IndiGo, flydubai and Air India Express.
IndiGo, one of the busiest airlines on the UAE–India sector, confirmed that dense fog continued to affect visibility at Delhi and other northern Indian airports, forcing changes to flight schedules. While some domestic services were cancelled to ensure safe operations, the airline warned that passengers with onward connections from Delhi could face further disruption.
“Prolonged low visibility during the morning hours has impacted air traffic movement, and as a result, some flights have been cancelled to ensure safe and compliant operations through the rest of the day,” the airline said in a travel advisory.

Dubai Airports’ schedules reflected the impact, with several Delhi-bound services experiencing delays, particularly morning departures. flydubai’s FZ 441 flight, codesharing with Emirates as EK 2124, departed at 07:46 instead of its scheduled 05:05, a delay of two hours and 41 minutes from Terminal 2. Air India Express flight SG 006 was also delayed, with its 11:10 departure pushed back to 14:30.
Emirates reported comparatively shorter delays. Flight EK 510 departed Terminal 3 at 04:52 instead of 04:20, while EK 516 left at 10:15 against its scheduled 09:55 departure. Etihad Airways also confirmed delays to its EY219 service to Abu Dhabi, citing adverse weather conditions in Delhi.
Air India Express cautioned that weather-related disruption could extend beyond airport operations, advising passengers to monitor flight status closely and factor in potential road traffic delays. Its AI 930 service was delayed from 09:55 to 11:30, while AI 918 operated as scheduled.
Despite the disruptions, no Dubai–Delhi flights were officially cancelled at Dubai Airports, with services marked as “delayed” or “departed” as airlines attempted to maintain operations.
