Electricity production in Oman rises 6.1% by October 2025

Electricity production in Oman grew by 6.1 percent by the end of October 2025, reaching 44,814.7 gigawatt-hours, compared to 42,255.8 gigawatt-hours during the same period in 2024.

MUSCAT : According to preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, net electricity production – which includes purchases by the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company and the Rural Areas Electricity Company – rose by 5.3 percent, reaching 43,532.7 gigawatt-hours by the end of October 2025, compared to 41,335.1 gigawatt-hours in the corresponding period of 2024.

In contrast, total water production recorded a slight decline of 0.8 percent, standing at 431,102.5 cubic meters by the end of October 2025, down from 434,563.2 cubic meters during the same period last year.
At the governorate level, Muscat Governorate reported an 11.7 percent drop in water production, reaching 171,676.0 cubic meters compared to 194,432.6 cubic meters in 2024. Dhofar Governorate, however, saw a 3.4 percent increase, producing 63,796.5 cubic meters compared to 61,727.4 cubic meters last year.

Water production in the remaining governorates also grew, recording a 9.7 percent increase to 195,630.1 cubic meters, up from 178,403.2 cubic meters during the same period in 2024.
