MUSCAT – The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Al-Fadl bin Mohammed Al-Harthi, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, and attended by key strategic partners from the civil aviation sector.

The logo launch marks a significant milestone in the Sultanate’s efforts to develop its aviation sector across multiple axes, including legislation and governance, airport infrastructure, safety and security, air navigation services, business development and investment, general civil aviation and drones, development of national competencies, as well as sustainability and innovation.

During the ceremony, a film titled ‘Beyond the Journey’ was screened, highlighting the integration among the Authority’s various divisions and showcasing the technical, operational, and supervisory efforts of specialized teams to ensure a safe journey from take-off to landing.

His Excellency Engineer Naif bin Ali Al-Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, said: “The National Aviation Strategy 2040 represents a comprehensive roadmap for the future of aviation in the Sultanate of Oman and reflects the government’s strong commitment to this sector and its vital role in supporting the national economy.”

He noted that the strategy aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and was developed through a participatory and integrated approach involving state institutions and key civil aviation partners.

His Excellency highlighted the aviation sector as a fundamental enabler of development in Oman, emphasising its role in enhancing air connectivity, trade, tourism, attracting investments, supporting vital economic sectors, and strengthening readiness to address global changes and technological advancements. He also underscored its contribution to maintaining international standards in safety, security, and environmental protection.

He pointed out that recent years have seen significant advancements in airport infrastructure, air navigation and meteorology, operational services, aviation security and safety, and digital transformation, positioning Oman as a reliable partner in the global aviation industry.

His Excellency also commended the contributions of national carriers and airport companies in expanding regional and international routes, providing high-quality travel services, supporting tourism and business, and meeting the needs of travellers.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Civil Aviation Authority reaffirmed its commitment to developing the aviation sector, strengthening cooperation with local and international partners, attracting investments, and enabling the private sector to play an active role in shaping the future of aviation in the Sultanate of Oman.
