MUSCAT: The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) has reaffirmed its position as a national pioneer in sustainability-driven education and responsible leadership development through two major initiatives held this month: the second PRME i5 Certificate of Practice workshop and the Authentic and Sustainable Leadership Workshop hosted by Estidama, the MCBS Center for Sustainability. Together, these initiatives reflect the college’s continued commitment to embedding future-ready skills, responsible management principles, and values-driven leadership across its academic ecosystem.
MCBS successfully completed the second session of the three-part PRME i5 (Impactful Five) Certificate of Practice series, led by international PRME specialist Prof. Jeremy B. Williams. This professional development course equips faculty with practical tools to assess holistic skills, translate student progress into actionable data, and report outcomes in meaningful ways.
Participants learned strategies to streamline data collection, reflect on student growth, and showcase the impact of their teaching practices. Importantly, participation in this session contributes toward earning the PRME Certificate of Excellence, which recognizes institutional leadership in embedding values-driven, skills-based education into business teaching.

Continuing this momentum, MCBS, through its sustainability center “Estidama”, hosted the “Journey Towards Authentic and Sustainable Leadership” workshop on 24 November 2025,delivered by global leadership expert Dr. Sasa Bavec.
The session brought together students, alumni, and faculty for an engaging exploration of leadership grounded in purpose, values, emotional intelligence, and community impact.
Participants reflected on their leadership identities, explored future goals and responsibilities, and collaborated on practical analyses of MCBS’s institutional strengths, cultural dynamics, anddevelopment opportunities. The workshop received highly positive feedback from attendees, who praised its interactivity, clarity, and transformative learning environment.
Together, these initiatives highlight MCBS’s expanding leadership in responsible education and sustainable development in Oman. By integrating global frameworks, experiential learning, and sustainability-driven pedagogies, MCBS continues to prepare graduates and educators who are
academically strong, ethically grounded, and aligned with the aspirations of Oman Vision 2040. For nearly three decades, MCBS has set new benchmarks for excellence, innovation, and national impact in higher education. Today, the college continues its confident journey toward university status while empowering the next generation of leaders committed to shaping a sustainable and prosperous future for Oman.
