MUSCAT — Two people were killed and several others injured after a collision between two trucks triggered a multi-vehicle crash on the Sultan Qaboos Highway in the Bidiya area of Al Sharqiyah Governorate, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on Sunday.
The accident occurred beneath the Bidiya bridge on the Nizwa–Muscat route, leading to a secondary crash involving five additional vehicles travelling on the same stretch of road. The ROP said the two fatalities were Asian nationals, while multiple others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Authorities have diverted traffic from the area while emergency teams clear the scene and investigate the cause of the crash.
