MUSCAT – The 5th edition of the TAS Conclave concluded successfully in Muscat, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs under the theme ‘Progressing Beyond Barriers’.
The event, which has grown into one of Oman’s foremost leadership and business platforms, was marked by reflections from Nishad Padiyarath, CEO of The Arabian Stories, on the Conclave’s journey and impact over the past five years.
Addressing attendees including His Excellency Qais Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Padiyarath said, “Today is a proud moment not just for The Arabian Stories, but for the growing community of thinkers, innovators, policymakers and entrepreneurs who have shaped this platform over the past five years.”
Reflecting on the Conclave’s origins, he added, “When we launched the first edition of the Conclave, it was at a moment the world will never forget — the peak of COVID-19. At a time when uncertainty gripped every sector and every institution, we took a bold decision: to create a forum where leaders could come together, exchange ideas, address challenges openly, and chart a path forward for Oman’s future.”
From its beginnings as a small CEO-focused dialogue, the TAS Conclave has evolved into a national platform that unites government, industry, investors, and innovators. “A platform that brings government, industry, investors and innovators to the same table…that has inspired decision-makers, guided policy conversations, and highlighted opportunities aligned with Oman Vision 2040,” Padiyarath said.
Expressing gratitude to key supporters, he remarked, “I want to express my deepest gratitude to His Excellency Qais Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, for graciously supporting this year’s edition. Your office has demonstrated tremendous commitment and clarity of vision throughout this journey.”
He also acknowledged BankDhofar, the Conclave’s Co-Powering Partner, saying, “Your belief in this platform and your support for its vision have played a significant role in elevating the Conclave to where it stands today. Thank you for standing with us — not just as a partner, but as a champion of leadership and innovation.”
Padiyarath extended appreciation to all partners and sponsors, including Invest Oman, Muscat Stock Exchange, Liva Insurance, and Muscat Pharmacy, noting, “Your support has enabled this platform to grow in scale, relevance and impact.”
Highlighting the vision behind TAS Conclave, he stated: “TAS Conclave has always been more than an event. It is an idea — an idea that dialogue can accelerate national development…that leadership is not confined to positions, but reflected in actions…And that Oman’s future will be shaped by collaboration between government, private sector, investors, and its young talent.”
On the year’s theme, he said, “‘Progressing Beyond Barriers’ reflects exactly that. It reminds us that with resilience, innovation, and partnership, Oman can — and will — advance to new heights.”
Concluding his remarks, Padiyarath expressed both humility and inspiration, saying, “As we mark five years of this journey, I stand here humbled and inspired. TAS Conclave belongs to all of you. It belongs to every voice that contributes, every leader who guides, and every partner who supports the vision of a stronger, more dynamic Oman. Thank you once again for your trust. Thank you for believing in conversation, collaboration and progress.”
