MUSCAT : The newly upgraded dual carriageway spans 5.5 kilometres.
The project involved transforming the existing single-lane road into a dual carriageway featuring two lanes in each direction and a 22.1-meter road cross-section. Works also included the construction of two new roundabouts, the preparation of entry and exit points, and the development of service roads at selected locations on both sides to ensure smoother traffic flow.

Built according to approved national standards, the project is equipped with full traffic safety features, including protective barriers, directional signage, road markings, and lighting poles.
The upgraded road is expected to significantly ease movement between the centre of Liwa and surrounding villages, enhance commercial activity, and improve access for users of the Sohar Port and Free Zone road – contributing to stronger economic growth in the region.
