MUSCAT – His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Mutairi, Kuwait’s Minister of Information and Culture, stated that the selection reflects the depth of the distinguished historical relations that unite the two countries.
This was said in a press statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) when the Kuwaiti minister received His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, upon his arrival in Kuwait to attend the fair’s opening events.
His Excellency Al Mutairi added that being selected as the guest of honour confirms the cultural depth and ancient civilizational heritage of the Sultanate of Oman.

He clarified that the participation of the Sultanate of Oman also lends great knowledge and human value to the fair due to its intellectual production and literary creativity, which reflects the richness and diversity of Omani culture.
The 48th Kuwait International Book Fair is held under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Kuwait’s Prime Minister, under the slogan “Capital of Culture… Homeland of Books”. This coincides with the selection of the State of Kuwait as the Capital of Arab Culture and Media for 2025. The events run from November 19-29, 2025.
