MUSCAT — Online food delivery platform Talabat Oman has issued a brief statement saying that some areas may face “temporary delays” due to “ongoing challenges in local operations,” after users across the Sultanate reported service disruption in recent days.

The company posted an update on its official Instagram story late Monday, stating: “Some areas may experience temporary delays due to ongoing challenges in local operations. Our teams are working closely with the relevant entities to keep deliveries running smoothly. Thank you for your patience and continued trust in talabat.”

The platform did not specify the cause of the disruption or provide a timeline for full restoration of services.

The update comes after many customers took to social media to express frustration, saying they were unable to place or receive orders, while several restaurants appeared as “closed” or “unavailable” on the app.

Talabat — one of Oman’s most widely-used delivery platforms serves thousands of users daily and partners with more than 5,000 restaurants and vendors, including a significant number of SMEs. The disruption has raised concerns not only among consumers but also among restaurant operators and delivery riders who rely on the platform for daily business.

Talabat has assured customers that efforts are underway to resolve the challenges and resume normal service as soon as possible.
