MUSCAT : His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, has departed for the Arab Republic of Egypt to represent His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at the official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
The landmark ceremony marks the inauguration of one of the largest and most significant cultural institutions in the world, adjacent to the historic Pyramids of Giza. The Grand Egyptian Museum, more than two decades in the making and developed at a cost of nearly $1 billion, is set to become a global hub for heritage, archaeology and cultural diplomacy.
