MUSCAT : The Directorate for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances of the South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, in coordination with the Special Taskforce Police Unit in Wadi Ma’awil, carried out a coordinated operation that halted the illegal smuggling of substantial quantities of marijuana.
Two Arab nationals were apprehended on the beaches of Wilayat Barka as they were receiving the contraband. Simultaneously, Coast Guard units pursued and intercepted the smuggling vessel, successfully taking control of the boat and detaining two Asian nationals on board.
The Royal Oman Police confirmed that all four individuals have been taken into custody and legal proceedings are underway.
