“The welfare of our people living abroad has always been our top priority,” Vijayan said, his tone both firm and heartfelt. “You are the pride of Kerala. Your hard work and contributions have strengthened both our homeland and Oman, a nation that has embraced you with warmth and respect.”
He went on to highlight the Loka Kerala Sabha, calling it a bridge that connects Keralites across the globe with their state’s development journey.
“Through the Loka Kerala Sabha, we ensure that every Malayali, wherever they are, has a voice in Kerala’s growth story,” he added to loud applause.
The atmosphere was electric yet deeply emotional a sea of faces reflecting hope, nostalgia, and pride. The Chief Minister’s visit marked the first by a Kerala leader to Oman in 26 years, since the late E.K. Nayanar’s 1999 trip.
Vijayan also praised the deep ties between Oman and Kerala, describing them as “built on trust, mutual respect, and shared prosperity,” and thanked the Omani leadership for creating an inclusive environment that allows the Indian community to thrive.
As the evening came to a close, the crowd lingered many still waving, many with tears in their eyes cherishing a moment that felt less like a political address and more like a heartfelt reunion between a leader and his people.
