RIYADH : Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has issued a royal decree appointing Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Fawzan bin Abdullah Al Fawzan as the new Grand Mufti of the Kingdom.
Under the decree, Al Fawzan will also serve as Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars and as General President of the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta, with the rank of Minister.
The appointment marks a key leadership transition within the Kingdom’s top religious authority, which plays a central role in issuing fatwas and guiding Islamic scholarship in Saudi Arabia.
