MUSCAT : The Omani delegation will be led by His Excellency Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council.
The Assembly will bring together parliamentary representatives from around the world to discuss pressing global issues, with this session focusing on upholding humanitarian standards and supporting humanitarian action during crises.

As part of its engagement, the Shura Council delegation will participate in several coordination meetings, including those of the Arab Parliamentary Group, the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, and a joint meeting with heads of geopolitical groups, standing committees, and other IPU bodies.
These coordination efforts aim to strengthen Gulf and Arab parliamentary cooperation, particularly in forming unified positions on the emergency item listed on the Assembly’s agenda, reflecting a shared commitment to issues of concern for Gulf, Arab, and Islamic nations.
In addition, the delegation will take part in the 39th Extraordinary Conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, as well as meetings of the IPU Governing Council, General Assembly, the Young Parliamentarians Forum, and the Association of Secretaries-General of National Parliaments.
The Shura Council will also contribute to the work of several IPU standing committees, namely.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union, which includes over 179 national parliaments and 65 associate members representing international organizations and civil society, serves as a global platform for parliamentary dialogue. It promotes peace, democracy, human rights, gender equality, youth empowerment, and sustainable development, while also advancing women’s participation in parliaments and strengthening their role in policymaking.
