MUSCAT : This investment is part of ITHCA Group’s broader strategy to strengthen Oman’s position in emerging sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and smart communication infrastructure – in alignment with Oman Vision 2040, which aims to build a diversified, knowledge-driven economy.

Commenting on the investment, Eng. Said bin Abdullah Al Mandhari, CEO of ITHCA Group, said the partnership reflects the group’s commitment to forging impactful international collaborations in semiconductors and wireless technologies. He explained that through this partnership, the group aims to transfer knowledge, develop national talent, and establish an integrated ecosystem that reinforces the Sultanate’s position as a regional hub for future technologies and the digital economy.
A key component of the agreement includes the establishment of an innovation centre in Oman, dedicated to developing smart communication solutions, wireless technologies, and semiconductors. The centre will work in close collaboration with local universities and research institutions to drive innovation and skill development.
Maryam Rafougaran, Co-founder of Movandi, hailed the partnership as a bridge between Silicon Valley and the Sultanate of Oman, saying it opens the door to strategic collaboration on next-generation communications technologies. She pointed out that the company is working closely with its Omani partners to develop advanced solutions including 5G, satellite communications, and fixed wireless access – all powered by cutting-edge semiconductor technology.
As part of the agreement, Movandi will establish a new office in Muscat, supported by ITHCA Group, to serve as a research and development hub focused on smart connectivity and artificial intelligence, and to promote regional cooperation in these critical sectors.
