DUBAI : The UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) has issued an urgent warning against the import, sale, or distribution of Uranus Star bottled water, following reports linking the brand to two deaths in neighbouring Oman.
The ministry confirmed that Uranus Star has no import or trade permit in the UAE, adding that the product was not found in any major retail outlets during recent inspections. Authorities have instructed all local suppliers and retailers to report and immediately dispose of any stock that may have entered the market illegally.
The alert comes days after two people — an expatriate woman and an Omani man died in the Wilayat of Suwaiq, Oman, after consuming Uranus Star bottled water.

Oman’s Ministry of Health and Royal Oman Police have launched an investigation into the source of contamination.
In response, UAE officials have stepped up screening procedures at ports of entry and are coordinating with local food safety departments across the emirates to ensure the brand does not circulate in the country.
The MoCCAE reiterated that public health and food safety remain “a top national priority,” urging consumers to verify brands before purchase and to immediately report any suspicious products through official hotlines.
