Workplace accidents in Oman must be reported by employers within 24 hours, says Labour Ministry

The Ministry of Labour has issued a reminder to all employers and business owners in the Sultanate of Oman to comply with regulations regarding occupational safety.

Muscat – In accordance with Article 13 of the Occupational Safety and Health regulations, employers are legally required to notify the Occupational Safety and Health Department at the Ministry of Labour, or the relevant section in the governorates, within 24 hours of any serious workplace accident, occupational injury, or confirmed occupational disease.

The Ministry stated that such incidents must be reported in writing, and employers must also notify the Social Protection Fund (SPF) of any work-related injuries involving employees who are covered by insurance.
