MUSCAT — Omani humanitarian and academic Dr. Omama Al Lawati received a grand welcome at Muscat International Airport on Thursday morning following her return from the Global Freedom Flotilla, a humanitarian initiative aimed at expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza.
Dr. Al Lawati was accompanied on the mission by Jamal Al Raisi, another Omani citizen who also participated in the international effort to highlight the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and advocate for unrestricted aid access to the besieged territory.
Family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered at the airport to greet Dr. Al Lawati and Al Raisi, applauding their courage and humanitarian spirit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had earlier confirmed their participation and maintained close coordination throughout the mission. Upon her return, Dr. Al Lawati expressed gratitude for the support extended by Omani authorities and the people of Oman, describing the experience as both humbling and inspiring.
Their participation in the Global Freedom Flotilla stands as a reflection of Oman’s enduring commitment to peace, dialogue, and humanitarian solidarity with the Palestinian people.
