MUSCAT : The forum focused on enhancing collaboration across a wide range of sectors, including construction and real estate, banking and finance, industry and energy, food, ICT, retail, healthcare, strategic investments, commercial markets, and logistics services.

In his opening remarks, His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI, emphasised the longstanding historical and fraternal relations between Oman and Bahrain, which have fostered strong economic cooperation over the years.

He highlighted the forum as a reflection of the shared commitment to aligning Oman Vision 2040 with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, thereby unlocking new horizons for joint investment and private-sector collaboration.

His Excellency added that the private sector in both countries represent the main driver of economic development and a fundamental pillar in building integrated Gulf economies capable of competing regionally and internationally.

His Excellency Dr. Juma Al Kaabi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Oman, described the forum as a vital opportunity to boost economic ties and turn bilateral aspirations into tangible outcomes. He pointed out that Omani-Bahraini relations are founded on brotherhood and integration, expressing hope that the forum would lead to the activation of existing MoUs and cooperation agreements, while encouraging stronger linkages between business communities in both countries.

Khalid Najibi, First Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, called the forum an important platform to implement the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, aimed at pushing bilateral relations towards greater economic integration and development.

He noted Bahrain’s journey from a traditional economy to a diversified, innovation-driven economy, underpinned by investment in human capital, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Saud bin Ahmed Al Nahari, Chairman of the Omani-Bahraini Investment Company, revealed that the company will begin operations early next year. Its investment focus will include tourism, mining, food security, manufacturing, IT, and artificial intelligence.

During the forum, both countries showcased their investment environments, incentives, and strategic sectors of interest. A panel discussion titled “The Reality and Prospects of Economic Integration and Cooperation between Oman and Bahrain” featured prominent private sector figures, addressing existing economic ties, integration challenges, and the need to promote joint ventures, especially among SMEs.

The forum concluded with bilateral meetings between Omani and Bahraini business owners, providing a space to exchange experiences, explore partnerships, and identify sector-specific collaboration opportunities.
